FAQs

Care instructions

Your candle should be lit for 2-4 hours on the first burn. This will create a full melt pool which is often referred to as a memory burn. The memory burn will affect the way your candle smells and burns until the final burn. Always trim wicks to 1/4 inch before every burn. Ensure no foreign material, matches, or wick trimmings are in or on your candle. Your candle should be on a fire-resistant surface. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Keep your candle out of reach of children and pets. Always keep your burning candle within sight.

--------------------

How long should the wick be before lighting?

Trim your wick to 1/4" using a wick trimmer or scissors - nail clippers work great too! Keeping your wick trimmed to approximately 1/4" will prevent your candle from smoking, sooting, or throwing sparks while burning.

--------------------

Why won't my candle light?

If your candle won't light, the wick either has too much wax on it or was cut too short. Dig out some wax around the wick and re-light.

--------------------

How should I extinguish my candle?

Using a wick dipper to dip the wick into the wax and pull the wick back out is the recommended way to extinguish your candle to avoid smoke. Blowing out your candle or using a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle will also work.

--------------------

What kind of wax do you use and what are your wicks made of?

Our wax is a proprietary soy wax blend. It has a great scent throw and is beeswax-free and coconut wax-free. Our wicks are made of 100% cotton.

--------------------

What kind of fragrance oils do you use?

We use premium fragrance oils that are non-toxic, gluten, phthalate, and lead free. All of our fragrances are 100% non-toxic when used for their intended purposes, in candles. We also exclude oils with known health concerns, including those on California’s Prop 65 list.

--------------------

How strong are the candle scents?

We use the highest fragrance oil to wax ratio possible to ensure a full fragrance. We do not use toxic chemical boosters found in many commercial candle brands so our candles do not have overpowering scents. We recommend using multiple candles if using in a larger space or a room with high ceilings.
